We have some exciting news to share! Baddhare Salon has been awarded the 2026 Spotlight on Environmental Awareness Award from the Solid Waste Authority!
Presented once each year to a local business that goes above and beyond in sustainable business practices, this recognition means so much to our entire Baddhare team.
But our favorite part? We were nominated by members of our own community who visit our salon and see our efforts firsthand. Several of those nominations even came from local teachers who are passionate about what we’re doing.
Our sustainability journey has grown right alongside our business.
Baddhare Salon opened its doors in 2017, and in 2019, we launched Baddhare Clean Mission with a goal of bringing cleaner beauty and lifestyle options to the Myrtle Beach community. In 2021, Baddhare Salon and Baddhare Clean Mission joined forces under one roof.
What started as a quaint little salon has evolved into the Baddhare brand, where diversity is celebrated, guests are empowered to customize their experience around their needs, values, and hair goals, and cleaner, more conscious choices are always part of the conversation.
One of the biggest ways we put our sustainability mission into action is through our partnership with Green Circle Salons.
As a certified sustainable salon through Green Circle Salons, we recover and repurpose up to 95% of our salon waste. Instead of sending foils, hair clippings, and chemical waste to landfills, these materials are given a new purpose through ethical recycling programs.
Foils can become bike parts, hair color can be turned into clean energy, and hair clippings can support humanitarian efforts. It’s all part of reducing the environmental impact of our everyday salon operations.
Our commitment to sustainability extends into the everyday choices we make throughout the salon. We use VISH software to help track hair color usage and reduce unnecessary product waste, and we’ve adopted a portion of the beach where we organize cleanups as part of our commitment to caring for the Myrtle Beach community we call home.
That commitment has also grown beyond the salon through Salon Manager and Wellness Educator Leslie Menich, who launched Live on with Les Consulting as an extension of the wellness, clean beauty, and sustainability initiatives she continues to champion at Baddhare Salon. Through her consulting work, Leslie helps individuals, beauty professionals, and businesses embrace wellness, clean living, and more sustainable practices.
Sustainability has become a driving force behind the Baddhare brand, shaping our culture, mission, and growth. Through Baddhare Clean Mission, our partnership with Green Circle Salons, guest education, community outreach, and our continued commitment to cleaner beauty, we’re always looking for ways to make a positive impact on people, the planet, and our community.
This award belongs to our entire team and community.
